Nearly 1 in 10 Coloradans and 1 in 8 Wyoming neighbors struggle to put food on the table. Need continues to remain high, especially among working poor families and those living on fixed incomes. With generous support from our community, Food Bank of the Rockies has been nourishing hungry families and helping them thrive since 1978. Last year, we distributed more than 53 million meals through our programs and partner agencies – food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters – and our direct service programs – Mobile Pantry, Kids Cafe, After School Snacks and Totes of Hope®. That’s nearly 66 million pounds of food!

September is Hunger Action Month
Each September the community helps raise awareness and funds for us through various events. You can help by advocating on our behalf through social media and helping us spread the word all month. Visit our website for upcoming activities.
Food Bank of the Rockies always needs and greatly appreciates contributions of funds, food and time. It may surprise people to learn that traditional food drives make up less than 3% of all the food distributed. Because we can procure food at wholesale or less and $1 = four meals or five pounds of food, there are more efficient ways to maximize your hard earned funds and generous gifts of time. We’d love to show you how we fight hunger at our warehouse and encourage potential supporters to schedule a tour of our facilities and discuss plans for your giving ideas with our experienced fundraising team. Please reach out to schedule a tour, set up a brainstorming session and learn more.
Volunteers are needed Monday – Saturday for both morning and afternoon shifts. Youth, age 14 – 15 can volunteer with an adult and anyone 16 and older can volunteer on their own. Our volunteer experiences are great for teambuilding events and large groups can usually be accommodated with advance notice. Schedule your shift and learn more on our website’s volunteer page.
