Year Established
National Jewish Health was established in 1899.

Service Area
Patients come to National Jewish Health from around the world for our expertise in respiratory, cardiac, immune and related conditions. We treat patients at 26 locations, including our main campus and the National Jewish Health – St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, and the Mount Sinai – National Jewish Health Respiratory Institute in New York.
We provide care for children and adults and conduct research on respiratory, allergy, immunology, cardiology, gastroenterology, rheumatology and infectious diseases. We also provide occupational health, rehabilitation, and sleep and wellness services, such as smoking cessation, weight management, nutrition and education programs, as well as free educational services for health care workers and the public. Our programs also include Morgridge Academy, a free K-8 school on the National Jewish Health campus that serves chronically ill children.

Mission Statement and Goals
The mission of National Jewish Health is to heal, to discover and to educate as a preeminent health care institution. The institution serves by providing the best integrated and innovative care for patients and their families; by understanding and finding cures for the diseases we research; and by educating and training the next generation of health care professionals to be leaders in medicine and science.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Since 1899, volunteers have been a key component of our institution, providing ongoing and dedicated support and assistance to our staff, the patients we serve and their families. Volunteers are a valuable resource and their time is truly appreciated. Our goal is to continue to serve patients while providing the volunteer with a challenging and satisfying volunteer experience.

For more information, contact Volunteer Services at 303-398-1126 or

Giving Opportunities:

At National Jewish Health, we treat all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. In 2015, we provided $25.6 million in charity care. We also conduct groundbreaking research that benefits people worldwide. None of this would be possible without the generous support of our donors.

National Jewish Health relies on private donations from individuals, families, companies and foundations to support its mission. All gifts make a difference in the fight against respiratory, cardiac, immune and related diseases. For more information, please contact 303-728-6591 or

Gift planning is a great way to support National Jewish Health and improve your financial outlook. A planned gift, such as a charitable gift annuity, can be a safe, low-risk investment for you and your loved ones. For more information or to make a planned gift, please contact Gordon Smith at (303)728-6549 or
