Service Area
Make-A-Wish Colorado grants the wishes of every medically eligible child in the state who is referred to us, as confirmed by their physician. The child must be 2½ and are under the age of 18 at the time of referral and never received a wish from another wish-granting organization.

Mission Statement
Make-A-Wish Colorado grants the wishes of Colorado children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy.

Goals
Make-A-Wish Colorado is dedicated to making every eligible child’s wish come true. We approach every aspect of our work with unwavering standards of honesty, transparency, and respect for wish recipients, their families, and Make-A-Wish supporters. We aspire to best-in-class business practices, and we embrace the challenge to exceed expectations at every opportunity. Our goal is to grant 245 wishes to Colorado children in the coming year.

Fundraising Events:

Kids For Wish Kids®
Kids For Wish Kids is a custom-tailored fundraising program that provides kids of all ages, students, and youth organizations the opportunity to engage in philanthropy and service activities to help grant the wishes of Colorado children with life-threatening medical conditions. Make-A-Wish Colorado worked with over 100 groups who developed and managed their own fundraising programs. Kids For Wish Kids and Wishmakers On Campus raised $675,000 in the 2015-16 school year, making it one of the top fundraising programs in the country.

Make-A-Wish Colorado presents – The Sporting Affair
February 23, 2017
Please join us February 23, 2017, to celebrate the magic of a wish fulfilled. There will be dinner, entertainment, and exciting auction items as well as some of your favorite local sports heroes. Featured celebrities will be auctioning off once-in-a-lifetime opportunities based on their personal experiences to help grant the wishes of local Colorado children.

Kickball Tournament
Produced by the Make-A-Wish Colorado Young Professionals, the annual Kickball Tournament, held at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in September 2017, is one of the largest of its kind in the nation. This tournament is fun for everyone, regardless of skill and ability, all while working to make wishes come true.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Make-A-Wish Colorado is especially fortunate to have had the support of nearly 200 regular volunteers this past year, plus an additional 350 one-time volunteers who donated more than 6,200 hours of valuable service. Volunteers serve as wish granters, fundraisers, office assistants, event support, speakers and airport greeters. Thank you to our 100+ wish granters who helped make wishes come true this year.

Giving Opportunities:

Adopt-A-Wish®
The Adopt-A-Wish® program offers donors the chance to be matched with a wish child as they are going through the Make-A-Wish experience. It provides a unique opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child. A member of our staff will work with you to identify the best possible wish child match for your family or organization. Sponsorship of a wish is $7,500.

Corporate Sponsorships/Giving
Corporate sponsorships are a great way to partner with one of the most widely known non-profit organizations in the world. Supporting Make-A-Wish Colorado can be tailored to the wants and desires of each company. It is a unique opportunity to engage your employees/customers and rally around an important cause. Make-A-Wish Colorado also has several special events each year that provide opportunities for corporate recognition with our supporters. Cause-related marketing campaigns also provide a great way for corporations to get involved and align themselves with the powerful Make-A-Wish brand.

Wishes in Flight®
Help us make wishes take flight by donating your frequent flyer miles to send a child on a wish of a lifetime. You can donate your individual miles or help to lead a campaign encouraging individuals from your organization/club to donate their miles to us. Once donated, your miles will never expire and are used to send children to destinations across the country and the world. This is just one simple way you can help grant a life-changing wish experience.

State Tax Return Donations
Make-A-Wish Colorado is fortunate to be part of Colorado’s “CheckOff Colorado” program, a program that provides taxpayers the opportunity to make a donation to select organizations on state tax forms. When filing your taxes this spring, simply select Make-A-Wish Colorado, enter the amount you want to donate and 100 percent of your contribution will be directed to Make-A-Wish Colorado. It’s a simple and easy way to help make wishes come true! Visit colorado.wish.org for complete details on all fundraising events, volunteer opportunities, and giving opportunities.
